“The ocean isn’t just where I go — it’s who I am.
Here’s to a year of ocean memories I’ll never forget. A year of salt, breath holds, spearfishing, dolphin visits, shark dive, stillness, amazing shells and wild wonder.
I don’t just celebrate the ocean — I live in rhythm with it.
Because when you live like a waterwoman… every day is Oceans Day.”
Every June 8th, we celebrate World Oceans Day — a global reminder that the ocean is not just a place, but a life source. Covering over 70% of our planet, the ocean gives us every second breath we take, regulates our climate, and holds an entire universe of biodiversity beneath the surface.
For me, it’s deeply personal.
The ocean raised me. It’s where I go to breathe deeper, feel smaller, and remember what truly matters. As a diver, spearfisher, shell collector, and ocean storyteller, I’ve seen firsthand both its beauty and its fragility. I have swum alongside reef sharks and dolphins, discovered rare shells nestled in seagrass, and watched coral gardens pulse with life. These moments are magic—but they’re also reminders of what we stand to lose.
World Oceans Day isn’t just a date on the calendar — it’s a call to action. A call to protect what protects us. To pick up the plastic, to learn the names of the fish, to speak up for the reef when it has no voice. Whether I’m floating above a reef, collecting washed-up shells, or filming marine life in motion, I carry this truth with me: we only love what we understand, and we only protect what we love.
This year, I shared a reel of my favorite ocean memories — dolphin visits, breath-holds in deep blue silence, collecting conch shells, and basking in the golden stillness of underwater light. It’s been a year of saltwater, wonder, and wildness. A year of healing, connection, and awe.
So today, and every day, I honor the sea — for the life it gives, the calm it brings, and the inspiration it stirs. I call on each of us to become stewards, guardians, and lovers of the ocean.
Let’s continue to make waves of change 🌎💙
For the ocean, for each other, for the future.
