Creating a Life that Feels Good on the Inside

You must go on adventures to find out where you truly belong.

There is nothing that makes me feel alive like the ocean does…

On January 30th 2021 I made the decision to leave on an epic adventure. Moving to Florida has been one of the biggest blessings the Universe has given me. My whole life, I was always called the little mermaid and I’ve been taken with the ocean for as long as I can remember. I just felt like I had to be closer to the ocean, to nature and I was sad and tired of being 1500 miles away.

The morning of my departure at YUL with my dive gear and my bags for the next 6 months.

New flight restrictions were going to be implemented and I didn’t want to miss my opportunity to leave. I booked and appointment to get my COVID test done and purchased a flight that would leave in less than 72 hours. I went home right away to pack my bags and said goodbye to my family.

I left everything I knew in a matter of days because I felt like my life had a greater calling, like I was meant to do more and just had to follow my intuition. It was so overwhelming that nothing else mattered but I’ve always felt like my life was happening somewhere else and that I was stuck in my hometown.

I think the hardest part was saying goodbye to my parents and sister. We’ve always been really close and it was the first time I would be this far away from them. Especially since the start of the pandemic, I would go home for the weekend, have family dinners, go on nature walks, BBQ by the pool… I was supposed to have more time with them before leaving but circumstances changed and what was supposed to be weeks, ended up being a couple hours.

I’m grateful that since March 2020, I’ve been able to work remotely and that my job allows me to be anywhere. Since meetings, trade shows and work events were all cancelled there was no need to physically be in Montreal anymore.

I won’t lie, it’s a little scary sometimes but part of me wanted to be the girl who decided to go for it. I wanted to stop talking about it and take action, chase my dreams, pursue my passion and have the chance to become great at freediving, photography, online marketing and meet people who enjoy the same things along the way. A few weeks of vacation a year to do what I’m passionate about wasn’t enough anymore, I want to always be surrounded by nature while building my empire and having the freedom to do what makes me happy.

I’m sure my family and friends will eventually understand that I feel like I’ve found my center, that I had to follow my vision even if I’m the only one who sees it. I’m a true believer that we have to follow the things that excite us because they aren’t random. They are connected to our purpose. We have to follow them and the world will thank us for it. Our dreams and our passions, our curiosities and our sources of joy, they are on purpose, and they are part of something bigger that we could ever comprehend.
