Welcome to My Life in Shades of Blue!

Ocean child passionate about ocean conservation and sustainability. I’m a waterwoman living life in shades of blue. Whether it’s freediving, spearfishing, scuba diving or boating I try to spend as much time as I can in the water.

The sea is my second home. The ocean is central to my existence, it is where I go to exercise, to explore, to fish and feed myself. For me, the ocean is a source of energy and power. It calms my mind and recharges my body. When I’m in the water, I experience joy and contentment. I delight in the sea, I can taste the life in the water.

I’ve always enjoyed spending time in the water. I have been fascinated by the ocean ever since I was a child, travelling around the world and spending as much time as I could near a beach.

I started scuba diving when I was 12 years old and I haven’t been able to get the ocean out of my head and my heart ever since. I discovered freediving last year and I fell in love immediately as it provides a whole new way to experience the ocean for me. I feel so light and free without any gear or heavy tanks, just a mask and fins! I’m now learning to spearfish and catch my own food in a sustainable way. The ocean to table lifestyle is amazing and nothing makes me feel more proud than being able to prepare a meal for my friends and family with the fish I just caught.

I mostly like to shoot the ocean and what it feels like because I find the sea and the water to be an endless source of creativity. The great vastness of the oceans are a source of fascination, intrigue, beauty and unparalleled life. I feel inspired by the natural surroundings, by being close to the ocean. The ocean is a part of who we are; it’s a source of life. We have emerged from the water and evolved inland, but we forgot about our origins. Some of us still have a strong link to it, but some have lost that connection. As humans, we walk the earth. We are land creatures with an aquatic past. That’s why my goal with travel and underwater photography is to make people feel like they’re swimming or walking on the beach right beside me, hopefully experience the same sensations I am in that moment and reconnect with the big blue.

People naturally want to protect what they love and the more time I spend in the ocean, the more I fall in love with every aspect of it. It makes me more curious about our connection to the world and motivates me to learn about the ways of the water and the role our ocean plays in our lives.

What you see in my photos is exactly how I experience the ocean.
